Payne, Williams--I am looking for info on a Thomas D. Payne, born. in VA.,who was on the 1860 Tishomingo County, MS, census. He was 75 years old at that time. His wife was Sarah (_____) Payne, born in NC, also 75 in 1860. They were in the household of a Williams family. Does anyone have info on who their children were? Any help will be appreciated. Kemp--Looking for the maiden name of the wife of George W. Kemp whose first name is Louisa. She is the mother of America W. Kemp, who is believed to be native American. Harvey, Hamlin--I want to request a copy of a marriage certificate and a divorce certificate for (1844 marriage) between Nancy S. Harvey and William Hamlin. Likewise I would like to get a copy of their divorce certificate for 1848. There weren't any records of births that far back, were there? I am trying to find their Son, Jerome Hamlin, born 1848. Mensay--I am looking for any information about my great grandfather, William M. Mensay. According to family Bible, he was born December 1852, but parents died of a fever when he was 2 years old. He was raised by an Uncle and left home at any early age. He did not know his age, birthdate, or how to spell his name. I have no other information and wonder if the name has been changed. My grandfather, James Irvin Meadows was born in Burnsville, Tishomingo County, on March 25, 1873, to Hale Thomas Calhoun Meadows and Margaret Evalena McMullen. There is also a record for a Thomas C. Meadows Enm. District #113 (Burnsville) in the Eleventh Census of the US 1890, Union Veterans and Widows, National Archives: No. 123, Roll 26. Mississippi 83,84,85,86. Lindsey, Perryman--Guardianship of S. E. I. V. Lindsey. In research a number of years ago, a relative made notes about finding the following information: P. 288-290 Abstract - John Lindsey, guradian of S. E. I. V. Lindsey (married James Perryman). Final Account. Probate court Feb Term 1861. The notes mention: Tishomingo County, MS, Settlements of Estates #1 (says this book is in the Chancery County Building, Corinth, MS). Green/Greene, Ricks, Crouch--Crouch and Greene families. I am looking for any information on Alfred Ervin Green family living in Baldwin, Tishomingo County, Mississippi, about the time of the civil war. He married Sallie Ricks and had 2 daughters. A story goes that A. E. murdered a man and went to Memphis. He sent for his family and they ended up in Ozark, Ar. One of the daughters married Joseph Crouch, Jr. and they moved with them along with his mother, Lavenia Crouch and a sister and brother. Thomas Feagin born August l3, l825, died February 22, l866, Burnsville, Mississippi. Martha Jane Feagin born Decemeber 29, l828, died March 2l, l880, Mississippi. Waldrup--J. Frank Waldrup. Seeking imformation on him or who his father was. I believe he came to Tishomingo Co. in the early 1860's as a child. He was born in the east in 1856. He had one daughter Alice Waldrup by his first wife. By his second wife, Druella (_____) Waldrup, he had Willie Frank Waldrup born1887 and Ruffus Hubbard Waldrup born 1894 in Jacinto. Burns, Barksdale--Seeking descendants of Frank Burns. Immigrated from Ireland in 1848, settled in Tishomingo Co before the Civil War. Enlisted at Corinth into the 13th Mississippi Infantry Regiment, (Company C), which was part of General Barksdale's Brigade. Left Mississippi after the war and moved to Kentucky. Would like to hear from anybody in the area named Burns, because he probably had siblings to come with him from Ireland. Was the town of Burnsville named after his family?? Let me hear from you.
