Davis2, Haywood--Looking for information on a Davis family listed on the 1850 Panola Co. Dist 13 Census Index says John but the text says age 38 female. The original image could be Jane Davis or John Davis. Children listed are Henry Davis, Samuel Davis, Margaret Davis, George Davis, Robert Davis,and William Davis. Does anyone know who these Davis's were? Also on the same Census Dist. 13 I find a M.B. Davis, age 21. I find these ages and names in my Grandfathers household in 1860, Gonzales Co., Texas. I know they were all born there, except him. He was born in AL. Trying to find who their family was and hope someone there has a clue. My Grandfather seven generations back was Marcellus Blanton Davis. He usually went by M. B. Davis. I know he was in Texas by 1854. George Haywood is listed in the 1860 Gonzales Co., Texas, Census in Marcellus Blanton Davis household from MS. Trying to find out if he is a relative and how related. Herron--I am trying to locate some of my Grandfather's family. My Grandfather has passed away & he was the key to this location. As a child I remember that they were buried in someone's front yard in the country in or around Sardis, MS. Their names are Issag A. Meyer, Dillard--I am looking for information on a "Lillie Meyer" who lived in Sardis in 1910, according to a postcard I have which was sent by her sister Anna Meyer from Milwaukee. She would have been with her mother Minnie Meyer, and possibly a sister Nellie Dillard. There might have been children Minnie Meyer and John E. Dillard, too. It must have been a small town, as the postcard was addressed to "Lillie Meyer, Sardis, Mississippi". I am looking for birth information for a Minnie Dillard, born in 1915 in the Sardis area, and a John E. Dillard, born in 1912 there. Mitchell, Hurt--Mitchell family genealogy. My ggrandfather Mitchell was born in Panola Co., Miss in 1855. I do not know whom his parents were. Bolivar/Boliver, Shaffer/Schaffer--Help! I am looking for any informationabout a Bolivar/Boliver family that lived in Sardis, Mississippi in the late 1800s. My great-great-grandfather, Louis Bolivar, was said to have been from France and was born around 1872. He married a woman named Bessie _____ around 1897 and they lived in Sardis. They had three children: Jasper Bolivar, Effie Bolivar, and Rubbie Bolivar. Jasper and Effie died about 1918, Jasper said to have drowned in Mississippi River. Louis died when Rubbie was 7, and Bessie Bolivar remarried a civil war veteran with the last name of Shaffer/Schaffer. Any information about this family would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Oldham--I am new at this research. Am trying to trace information on my late husband, William Carl Oldham, whose dad also had this name. Needham, Armistead, Wilson--Thomas Lumpkin Needham was born 6-2-1835 in GA, died ll-24-l915, Sarah "Sallie" M (Armistead) Needham was born 10-13-1847,died 6-11-1934. Both are buried in the Sardis-Rosehill Cemetery. Thomas Wilson Armistead may have been a cousin of Sallie's. He died 5-8-1958. Would like to have any information anyone might have on either of these three. Would anybody know where I could get an obituary for Thomas or Sallie? I know they lived in Sardis for some time. Thomas would be my great grandmother Elizabeth (Needham) Wilson's brother. My great grandmother Elizabeth was married to Will Wilson and they also lived in MS at one time. Harris, Williams--I am searching for information on Robert Harris, born 1805-10 in North Carolina and lived in Panola County before 1835. He had children born there: John W Harris born 1843, Robert E Harris born 1845, William A Harris born 1848. There may have been others. Also information on his son, Robert E Harris born 1845, served in Confederate Civil War in the regiment of Baskin Battalion Calvary, Dennies's Brigade. Cox2, Moffett, McCune(?)--Cox ancestors. Seeking any information about the Cox family in Panola County MS from about 1830-1880. My ancestor Henry Bagby Cox and wife Margaret Moffett Cox were there from about 1830-1857 when they left for Independence County, AR. Their daughter Susan Emily Cox was born at Springport, MS, in 1848. Their son James Cox was listed as a Civil War casualty in the Panola Star in 1862. Eagar, Prince, Wright--I am searching for information on two generations of my family who lived in Panola county. 1. Robert Eagar and Hannah A. Prince Eagar. They would have moved to Panola County sometime after 1825 or during the 1830's. He died in Cherry Springs, Tennessee in 1844 and she died in Summit, MS, in 1880. 2. Charles Prince Eagar and Laura Emily Wright Eagar. They were married in 1846 and lived on a property they named "Belmont" in Panola County. They lived there until 1850. He died in Columbus, MS, in 1950 and she lived there the remainder of her life. The Wright family has done some research and published a book on the Wrights, so I know about her life in Columbus before and after their time In Panola. In a letter she said she and Charles named Belmont after the estate of some relatives in Columbus. Any information at all about these people or their homes or information on how I could research this information would be greatly appreciated. I am a real beginner at this type of research. Walker--I'm trying to find when and where my Ggrandfather, William H. Walker, died and where he was buried. We know he and family lived around Sardis and Batesville area. He was married to Susan Darby Walker and they had nine children. Sarah Walker, Henry George Walker, John Wesley Walker (my grandfather), Richard Walker, Oliver Walker, William B.
