Here I am (Jean Rawlings Meaney) standing at the entrance to the Tinsley Davis Cemetery.  David Ragland Davis took me there on April 1 which I find very appropriate that two ancestrally-obsessed individuals would be prowling on that date around the squishy and a little overgrown ground, David using his umbrella to poke holes looking for tombstones buried (picture to  follow).  Of course, all the dogs in everyone's yards were barking and the people in the houses were looking at us strangely.  The backs of all yards are fences so the Cemetery is mostly enclosed except for the entrance where I am  standing.  A plum tree on the highest point was blooming.  We found  two stones, one large polished granite(?) up against a fence but no markings on  the side up and way too heavy to move.  I was surprised by how modern and large they appeared.  My relatives in Memphis looked at me strangely and cautioned me when I said I was going to this cemetery with a man I met on the Internet.  (Of course, David and I have been corresponding for 2 1/2 years now and have written a book together, just never physically met, but it must have sounded strange.)   But then, his wife let him go to the Cemetery with a woman he met on the Internet.
Not only that, but we went to Edmundson Cemetery after that where we both have many Davis relatives.  That was a real cemetery and a pleasure to see but a lot smaller than I expected.  Robert Bruce Bowe's marker is  there.  My great grandfather Emmett Elam is buried there with his first wife.  So had a great time.  Still trying to figure out how we can do something about the Cemetery.
Thanks and blessings,
 Jean
